The Path Here
With a lifelong fear of needles, this was an unlikely path.
Before finding acupuncture, my life looked very different. I worked in finance, then as an interior designer, and most importantly, as a mother.
In 2016, my daughter was struggling with a medical condition that doctors couldn’t resolve. At a friend’s urging, I brought my three-year-old in for acupuncture as a last resort. My expectations were low, but within two months, she was better.
Curious, I began treatment myself. I watched in amazement as longstanding issues like pain, disrupted sleep, and ongoing discomfort fell away over time. My energy steadied. I recovered more quickly when life was demanding. I felt better, and my family could feel it, too.
That experience changed how I understood health. What began as a last resort became central to how I care for myself and my family, not only when something is wrong, but as a way to stay well. I came to understand acupuncture as a form of medicine that supports the body before imbalance takes hold.
After several years, as my acupuncturist prepared for retirement, he encouraged me to train and offered to mentor me. I completed a four-year master’s program in Classical Chinese Medicine, with additional training in Taiji, Qi Gong, nutrition, and advanced studies in cosmetic acupuncture.
As my understanding deepened, I knew I wanted to build something of my own. And so Mira was born: a place where you are seen clearly and cared for in a way that restores balance from the inside out.
I see my role as a partner in your health. Someone who takes the time to understand, to connect the dots, and to support your body now and for the future.
I look forward to working with you and seeing what is possible.
Stay well,
Mikelle
